A delegation of 15 students from Fukushima University, Japan, visited our centre at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) on 27 September 2024, as part of their overseas research on sustainability.
The group is led by Professor Sano Koji, the Executive Director and Vice President (General Affairs) of the university, and they came as part of their research project on sustainability in Malaysia.
The delegation was welcomed by the RCE Youth Coordinator of RCE Greater Gombak (RCEG2), Ahmad Ali Karim, and the IIUM Pagoh Kizuna Club President, Tengku Najwa.
The Coordinator of RCE Greater Gombak, Professor Zainal Abidin Sanusi presented to the delegation on understanding the purpose of education, leading to understanding the role of sustainability.
This was followed by a sharing from IIUM students including Umar from Nigeria on their experience in engaging with sustainability projects within their spheres including in IIUM.
The students from Fukushima University also prepared a presentation about their institution, as well as the purpose of their visit which is to learn more on the sustainable practices in Malaysia among university students.
They finished their visit with a campus tour while surveying students on campus as part of their research project.
