On 23 July 2024, the President and Rector of International Islamic University Malaysia, Tan Sri Samsudin Osman and Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak soft-launched the World’s Indigenous Peoples Showcase: Demonstrating Multiculturalism (WISDOM).
This marks the beginning of a four-month long series of events in relation to showcasing and empowering indigenous communities across Malaysia, starting from 23 July to 28 November 2024.
The programme is set to feature various different types of activities throughout the duration, including discussions, showcases, sports, arts, workshops, and many more.
WISDOM is held in conjunction with the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, which is celebrated on 9th August every year as observed by the United Nations.
The first programme is set to take place on that day itself, where there will be a webinar on Global Indigenous Games.
